OMG. If you want awesome fresh seafood and request as good service definitely check this place out. Was not disappointed by any means. Great food, great prices, friendly staff. Keep up the good work.
I'm a chef in NYC, and I've tried fish all over the city. Nothing compares to this place. When I'm visiting family, this is one of my go to places in an area where I'm generally disappointed wherever I go out to eat. The food is always consistent and the service is disgustingly fast despite a line out the door. Admittedly I think that the fries could use a bit more salt, but the fish doesn't need it. It always has an incredible amount of fresh flavor between the meat itself and the batter. The fried scallops are unbelievably juicy and sweet. Hands down the best scallops I've ever had. A memorable place of the Jersey shore area and I hope for the sake of the food scene around Monmouth county, it never closes down.
This place is phenomenal! Me and my wife will drive 40 minutes for the clam chowder and are never disappointed. Everything is super fresh and always delicious. Would easily recommend to anyone that enjoys seafood. 5 stars hands down.
It's simply the best fried fish that exists, on the planet. If you think I am joking, ask the locals. If you think I am joking, ask the folks that come down to the place from NYC, Connecticut and on! Not joking. The fish is so good, that, as fried fish, it is still better than most fish you could find in the very best restaurants in NYC. It is that good. Been coming to this place since the mid-1960's. They had a direct connection with the old Fulton Fish Market. Now it is another fresh fish market. Why is it so good? Beyond the recipes, which have been perfected since it opened back in the 30's or something...the fish is literally fresh caught. Just go, just try it. Recommends - definitely the scallops. That is number 1. Also amazing are the fish cakes, the clam strips (and well, most of the menu).
The fish from this fishery is always spectacular. I very rarely find bones left in the fried/cooked fish (bones are expected once in a while, but this fishery does a better job getting all the bones out prior to cooking than every other fishery I've been to). They provide relatively quick service, but there's usually a line, especially on/around holidays. The seafood is always fresh here. The tartar sauce here is delicious, too. There's nowhere to sit & eat inside and no tables directly outside, but there's plenty of parking across the street with a nice view, and there's a park nearby that used to have tables (not sure if the tables still exist). Most people opt to sit and eat in their vehicles, though. This place is cash-only, but there is an on-site, non-specific ATM that works well. I hope you find this review helpful. :)
