Beautiful spot looks affords a 270 view from Staten Island beaches across to Manhattan skyline. Sails aplenty in summertime, fishing all year round and a decent bird watchers perch, great eats over at Keyport Fishery.
Nice place to fish.. I never really catch anything.. but then again I don't typically go early.. just and afternoon little adventure.. we grab sandwiches at Mike's sub shop near by because the bread they use is sooooo good!!
The reviewers with problems were apparently the ones who went there to fish, but since I was not fishing, this did not apply to me.
Excellent for relaxing take in the view of the sea. Good fishing and crabbing.
We trailered a 22 foot sailboat with a swing keel (so it has a draft of 12") and still had trouble getting it back onto the trailer. This is the reason for 4 stars. Other than that, it was a great experience. The harbor was nice to sail around in, albeit, more congested than I am used to in south Jersey. The parking was ample, although it was not clearly marked. I had to move my car before sailing, thanks to the nice police officer who let us know the one spot I was in wasn't part of the public parking.
Agree with everyone who said things like "beautiful place to stroll", "dog-friendly", "lovely view" and so on. I would add that there are beautiful rose bushes, and a nice selection of restaurants along Front Street for "apres-stroll."
